Welcome & the month of October

Hello and welcome to moderncommoner.com. This is a blog that will mainly consist of movie and music reviews, but may branch out in to some other things once we get rolling. I also plan to get a YouTube channel going where I’ll do shorter spoiler free reviews, so keep your eye out for that.

This month I have been delving into horror classics, quite a few of which I’ve never seen. By the end of the month I’ll have seen at least 6 that I hope to get reviews up for. I’ve been watching them with my girlfriend and a mate who haven’t seen most of them either, every Monday night we’ve done a double feature. It’s interesting going back and seeing where a lot of these iconic characters like Michael Myers and Freddy Krueger got started, and if these movies still hold up today. And that’s the lends I’m reviewing these movies from. Do they still hold up? Are they still entertaining?

I haven’t been to film school and I’m not a cinematography nerd, but I do love movies. From the time I was a kid and learned how to use a VHS player (god I’m old) I consumed as many as I could. I’ve spent countless hours of my life watching them and I’m excited that I now have a forum where I can talk about them. And I’d love for you to talk back.
